DECON BAGS HELP TO LIMIT CARCINOGEN EXPOSURE & KEEP YOUR CREW ORGANIZED

Firefighters are experiencing a cultural shift, one where PPE contamination control is as critical as protection from smoke inhalation and burns. As researchers are focusing on the consequences of exposure to fire-born particles and their long-term effects, firefighters are seeing a surge of precautionary protocols and procedures. Currently, the mitigation technique with the most merit is on-scene decontamination.

Decontamination aims to drastically reduce the collection of potentially harmful particles on PPE directly following a structural fire. This is done a multitude of ways, including hosing down, scrubbing PPE, and perhaps most importantly, thoroughly cleaning turnouts in an extractor or with an ISP.

WE CARE about you, your crew and your families.

We now know that continuing to wear exposed gear in the apparatus and back to the station contributes to prolonged exposure and the unnecessary spread of carcinogens throughout the firehouse and beyond. To help protect you from these contaminants and keep your cab clean, we are distributing an airtight, single-use decon bag with every turnout coat purchase. It's just one more way we show WE CARE
